Why is Equine Interaction Beneficial?

Equine interaction can have many benefits, including:
    • Stress reduction

Equine interaction can help people release emotions and gain spontaneity.

    • Improved communication

Horses are sensitive to body language and non-verbal communication, which can be helpful for people with language barriers or behavioral disorders.

    • Increased trust

Participants in equine interaction learn to trust the horse, which can help them improve their social relationships and emotional regulation.

  •  Emotional bonding

Children with autism can form a bond with horses that’s characterized by trust, empathy, and mutual understanding.

  • Improved self-esteem

Success in equine interaction activities can help children feel more confident and self-assured.

  • Setting boundaries

Horses make it clear when someone has crossed their boundaries, which can help people learn to set their own boundaries.

  • Cognitive benefits

Equine interaction can help improve concentration, attention, problem-solving skills, patience, judgment, and communication skills.

  • Fighting control

Equine interaction can help people who struggle with substance use disorders or addiction understand the power of control.

Equine interaction can be beneficial for people of any age, including children with cerebral palsy, behavioral tics, motor control issues, and coordination problems.
